Iveco Defence Vehicles has delivered the last allocation of the fourth generation light armoured vehicles (LAVs) for the Norwegian Army.

The Norwegian Defence Material Agency (NDMA) received the delivery of 62 LAVs at Iveco headquarters in Bolzano, Italy.

Developed from the light multirole vehicle (LMV), the LAV is installed with several new upgrades requested by the customer and is designed to offer increased payload and better reliability.

Upgrades include the integration of the new driveline, which provides improved performance and an enhanced air filtration system.

The crew cell has been refurbished to improve crew ergonomics and increase the internal capacity of the vehicle. New seats, a modern dashboard and an upgraded hardtop have also been installed.

Delivery is carried out as part of the fourth LAV order received by the company from the Norwegian Armed Forces. It helps address the current and future requirements of the Norwegian Army in relation to its performance, mobility and crew protection.

The vehicle has already been deployed by the Norwegian Armed Forces to carry out missions abroad.

To date, Iveco Defence Vehicles has delivered more than 4,000 units of its LMVs to 13 nations across the globe. Vehicles have been supplied to Albania, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Italy, Lebanon, Norway, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Tunisia and the UK.

The company is the defence and civil protection division of CNH Industrial.
