Intended for use on armoured personnel carriers (APCs), Elbit Systems’ UT30 MK2 is designed to increase the operational capabilities of the vehicles by providing options for both crewed and uncrewed turret configurations.
Its modular structure and open architecture permit integration of various types of missiles and targeting sights, offering flexibility in deployment according to specific requirements.
According to Elbit Systems, the UT30 MK2 is installed in an overhead position without deck penetration, a configuration that preserves internal space and vehicle armour protection while maintaining troop safety.
The turret features a low-profile design and supports a suite of sub-systems including fire control, electrical drive stabilisation, gunner and commander sights, battle management, and protection systems.

In addition to its main 30mm gun, the UT30 MK2 incorporates a coaxial 7.62mm machine gun and is compatible with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs).
The system has been designed for straightforward conversion between crewed and uncrewed operations and allows for integration with other weapons and sensor systems as required.
Elbit Systems president and CEO Bezhalel (Butzi) Machlis said: “We are proud to be selected once again by a valued international customer.
“These contracts reflect the customer’s confidence in our advanced land systems and munitions technologies and further demonstrate our ability to deliver high–performance, operational solutions to armed forces worldwide.”
Elbit Systems previously secured a contract in April last year valued at approximately $100m to provide UT30 MK2 uncrewed turret systems to General Dynamics European Land Systems.
These turrets are scheduled for installation on ASCOD armoured fighting vehicles being delivered to an undisclosed Nato member state in Europe.
