The British Army has selected Elbit Systems UK to deliver the Interim Combined Arms Virtual Simulation (Deployable) ICAVS(D) platform.
ICAVS(D) will support and inform the UK Army’s collective training transformation programme (CTTP).

With the help of Defence Virtual Simulation software, the platform will deliver ‘immersive virtual training’ to reserve and regular soldiers.
Furthermore, the system will allow soldiers to carry out ‘experimentation and collective readiness training’ from vehicle personnel to joint arms sub-unit.
Both the army’s reserve and regular soldiers can prepare and review their skills and the equipment in complex operational environments and under any kind of weather conditions.

ICAVS(D) will be delivered as a full service by Elbit Systems UK’s Training Support Team.
According to the company, it can be deployed within barracks, as well as on training areas.
The new system is set to replace the existing in-service system, the Unit-Based Virtual Trainer (UBVT), by April next year.
It will also provide necessary insights into the army’s future collective training programmes such as replacing the British command and staff training (CAST) and the combined arms tactical trainer (CATT) systems.
The company is already supporting the training requirements of the British Armed Forces. Some of the major training programme support being offered include the Joint Fires Synthetic Trainer and Joint Fires Mobile Trainer.
