While Gentex hasn’t disclosed the exact quantity ordered, the MoD had previously reported to the Czech government in July about an order for a total of 14,600 ballistic helmets with related accessories.
The deal includes the lightweight Ops-Core ballistic helmets, designed for modern tactical operations.
The helmets come with a range of interoperable accessories such as AMP Communication Headsets with Push-to-Talk functionality, ballistic visors, full-face shields, mandible protectors, and SOTR respirators with built-in microphones for contaminated environments.
These constituent parts create a comprehensive headborne protection system improving soldiers’ safety, communication, and mobility in rigorous combat situations.

Delivery under the contract is expected to complete by October 2026.
Gentex EMEA ground systems sales director Jim Clarke said: “Gentex was selected for our proven ability to deliver reliable, mission-ready solutions that meet the highest standards of protection and performance.
“We offer more than just advanced equipment; we deliver confidence on the battlefield. Our systems are already fielded across multiple NATO forces, ensuring seamless interoperability, simplified training, and streamlined sustainment.”
The new helmets and associated equipment will cater to brigade task forces within the 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade and the 7th Mechanised Brigade.
Other beneficiaries include personnel within ground forces, support units, special operations forces, Military Police, and the Cyber and Information Operations Command.
This acquisition’s variability ensures that each kit can be customised according to the specific requirements of individual users, optimising operational efficiency across varying mission profiles.
“The new helmets, together with the purchased accessories, form a unified and fully compatible system of head protection, including basic senses, during all types of combat activities. They will provide soldiers with greater safety, better communication and the necessary mobility,” Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová said in a statement in July 2025.
In May 2025, the US State Department sanctioned a potential $181m foreign military sale of communications equipment to the Czech Republic.
