Under the $4.97m contract, the company will work on giving the platform more portability. This will enable quick deployment of the platform anywhere across the world.

US Army Defensive Cyber Operations Cyber Platforms and Systems product manager lieutenant colonel Bradley Son said: “Giving the GDP the capability to be portable is a critical requirement, as it enables the army to protect its networks while quickly bringing combat power against our adversaries.

“This is an essential capability in the 21st century, as the battlefield is changing faster than ever before.

“Axellio demonstrated its technology meets and exceeds the army’s requirements for this portable version of the GDP.”

The threat detection and response solutions provider will employ its PacketXpress Packable Edition (PPX) for expanding the platform.

PPX, which will be leveraged as a hyper-converged solution, will also improve the GDP’s processing and storage capabilities.

Currently, Axellio is increasing the deployment of GDP version 3 at certain global Army Garrison bases.

According to the company, GDP version 4 will be the next evolution under this contract and involves providing portable formfactor defence cyber tools for rapid installation.

Axellio CEO Bill Miller said: “I am extremely proud of our team for the work it did on the earlier versions of this cyber security system for the army.

“Axellio was very successful in operationalising this ground-breaking platform, and we are now able to apply this valuable experience to making this system more nimble, enabling it to help the army outmanoeuvre the enemy virtually anywhere.”
