Turkish defence company Aselsan has reported more than $1bn (Tl36bn) in export contracts in 2024, the highest in its operational history, marking consistent progress towards its strategic objectives set for 2030.  

The company also experienced a doubling of direct exports, reaching $217m.

Indirect exports, facilitated through various platforms such as land, naval, and air, contributed an additional $291m, culminating in a total export volume of $508m.  

The year marked an expansion for Aselsan, as it entered into agreements with seven new countries, extending its global reach to 92 nations.  

An array of 31 products debuted on the international market, including the ASELFLIR-500 camera system, which was acquired by 16 countries during its inaugural production year.  

The ASELFLIR-500, an electro-optical system, is designed for a variety of aerial platforms, enhancing reconnaissance and targeting capabilities.

As part of broadening its international presence, Aselsan opened offices in six additional countries, thereby establishing a presence in a total of 20 countries.  

This move aims to improve service delivery to end-users worldwide.  

Aselsan President and CEO Ahmet Akyol said: “2024 had been a remarkable year for Aselsan in terms of new orders and deliveries domestically and internationally. We achieved to become one of the ten fastest-growing defence companies in the world, making us climbing five places in the Defense News Top 100 list. I see all these achievements as a result of the dedicated work of our young and talented workforce and want to thank each of them for being a part of this amazing team.  

“Looking ahead to 2025, our 50th anniversary, Aselsan has higher goals to reach in sight, with the motivation to build on the achievements of 2024. We will continue to produce the highest technologies with the most qualified capabilities and the fastest processes, and present them to the world in frame of our strategic vision for 2030, which we call aselsaneXt2030.” 

Additionally, the company also played a role in Türkiye’s first domestically developed communication satellite, TÜRKSAT-6A, which provided Ku-Band and X-Band LOCUS communication payloads, strengthening its expertise in communication technologies across various domains.
