Asia-Pacific was the fastest growing region for internet of things (IoT) hiring among military industry companies in the three months ending May.

The number of roles in Asia-Pacific made up 5.3% of total IoT jobs – up from 3.9% in the same quarter last year. That was followed by Europe, which saw a 0.6 year-on-year percentage point change in IoT roles.

The figures are compiled by GlobalData, who track the number of new job postings from key companies in various sectors over time. Using textual analysis, these job advertisements are then classified thematically.

Which countries are seeing the most growth for IoT job ads in the military industry?

The fastest growing country was France, which saw 14.5% of all IoT job adverts in the three months ending May 2021, increasing to 16.2% in the three months ending May this year.

That was followed by Spain (up 1.3 percentage points), the Philippines (1.2), and Canada (1.1).

The top country for IoT roles in the military industry is the United States which saw 61% of all roles advertised in the three months ending May.

Which cities and locations are the biggest hubs for IoT workers in the military industry?

Some 4.1% of all military industry IoT roles were advertised in Toulouse (France) in the three months ending May.

That was followed by Indianapolis (United States) with 2.7%, Scottsdale (United States) with 2.4%, and Gennevilliers (France) with 1.8%.
