A recently filed patent (Publication Number: US20230284805A1) describes a new drink container design. The container includes a liquid container with a neck and opening, as well as a cap assembly that can be removed. The cap assembly consists of a base that is coupled to the neck of the liquid container and has a through-passage. It also includes a first catch structure and a mouthpiece assembly.

The mouthpiece assembly is designed to allow drink liquid to flow from the internal compartment of the liquid container. It can be positioned in a dispensing configuration, where the liquid passage permits the flow of drink liquid, or a stowed configuration, where the liquid passage is restricted. The mouthpiece assembly is biased towards the dispensing configuration and includes an outlet.

To retain the mouthpiece assembly in the stowed configuration, a second catch structure is adapted to engage with the first catch structure. However, a user release mechanism is provided to disengage the catch structures when the user pushes an actuation surface. This causes the mouthpiece assembly to move from the stowed configuration to the dispensing configuration.

The patent also mentions additional features of the drink container. It can include a user engagement pad as part of the user release mechanism, which extends through the cap assembly for user engagement. A rigid collar member can be pivotally coupled to the cap assembly, and the mouthpiece assembly can be secured to the collar member to restrict relative movement.

The mouthpiece assembly includes a tube portion that defines the liquid passage, and the tube portion can be secured to the collar member. The mouthpiece portion, which includes the outlet, can be bite-actuated and biased towards a closed configuration. Biting on the sidewalls of the mouthpiece portion can open the outlet and allow drink liquid to flow.

The mouthpiece assembly can be constructed as a unitary assembly of resiliently deformable material. It may also include an anchor portion that extends from the tube portion and has a greater exterior perimeter. The anchor portion can engage with corresponding structure of the base of the cap assembly and restrict removal of the mouthpiece assembly.

Overall, this patent describes a drink container with a unique cap assembly and mouthpiece assembly design that allows for easy dispensing of drink liquid while also providing a secure stowed configuration. The user release mechanism and bite-actuated mouthpiece add convenience and functionality to the container.
