Defence Solutions for Government Security Agencies

44 Maryborough St, Fyshwick ACT 2609, Australia

Defcon Technologies is a leading supplier of specialised defence solutions to federal and state government agencies and prime system integrators.

We specialise in radio and audio communications, personal protective equipment, data security, surveillance and forensics, military lighting and electro-optics, global positioning system (GPS) signal distribution, ruggedised video systems, and augmented reality-based simulation and training.

Our customers include all Australian federal and state government agencies tasked with ‘front-line’ defence and national security, special operations and counter-terrorism, immigration and border protection, as well as law enforcement and internal security.

Radio and audio communications for military applications

Defcon’s INVISIO range is a one-size-fits-all tactical headset solution. It provides optimal comfort and fit for end users who need to communicate in extreme military environments.

Hearing protection and personal protective equipment

Defcon Technologies provides a wide range of headsets that are designed to protect a user’s hearing.

The 3M™ PELTOR™ ComTac XPI is designed to help reduce exposure to hazardous levels of noise, improve situational awareness and at the same time enable two-way radio communication in noisy environments.

The 3M-Peltor-ProTac-II’s level dependent function enables ambient sound such as conversation, machine sounds and warning signals. The control buttons are located easily and logically positioned, enabling simple adjustments to ambient noise.

The 3M Peltor Tactical XP Series is equipped with an array of functions that further improve selective hearing while protecting from harmful noise. Each function and its settings are indicated by a voice message. Functions such as equalizer, balance and a high amplification make this a highly advanced product.

The 3M Peltor TEP-100 Tactical Earplugs provides hearing protection and assists in improving situational awareness and communication. Small, lightweight, and rechargeable, they are designed for tactical, engineering, and maintenance applications.

Data security, surveillance and forensics

Defcon works with ROK Mobile Protection Group, a developer of unique security and policing technology products to provide cost-effective, real-time, secure, two-way data flow technologies.

The solutions are used by government, law enforcement and security officers to gather and manage information in various formats, such as advanced spatial awareness capabilities and ecrypted data-based communications.

Internal and external lighting for military vehicles

Defcon provides internal and external lighting for military vehicles.

In addition to standard visibility products, solutions are available with night-vision goggle (NVG) compatible, infrared (IR) covert and dual-mode capabilities, as well as light-emitting diodes (LED) for shelters and medical facilities.

GPS signal PNT distribution for military ground vehicles

Defcon partners with GPS Source, a provider of innovative GPS solutions and robust positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) signal distribution equipment for military applications.

GPS Source offers various customised solutions to meet the needs of command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) system integrator and platform original equipment manufacturer (OEM), from military-spec splitters to intelligent antenna switches and retransmission controllers.

Ruggedised video cameras for mission-critical environments

We offer a range of ruggedised camera solutions and recording systems to suit specific needs for mission-critical environments.

Gun cameras are installed directly to the barrel of a small-to-medium calibre weapon on an armoured vehicle. They are available in a wide range of field of views and can be used for a variety of applications such as situational awareness, verification and targeting.

The RVC-01 rear view camera provides drivers with a clear view behind the vehicle. Symbology added to the video image simplifies navigation when reversing, while a motorised door on the housing protects the lens from the dirt when the camera is not in use.

Our rugged camera modules are available in compact colour and monochrome camouflage, concealment and deception (CCD) video camera versions. They are well-protected inside environmentally sealed aluminium housing with a scratch-resistant sapphire window, and finished in a lusterless desert tan or anodised olive-drab.

The ruggedised flat panel display (RFPD) series of video monitors are designed for adverse environments such as armoured, airborne, construction and mining vehicles. The displays are manufactured to achieve full MIL qualifications.

The MBC-128 control unit provides cameras with regulated power from the vehicle and a built-in graphic overlay generator. A single control unit can support several cameras and have redundant graphic overlay generators. Separating the power supply from the camera itself reduces the overall system size and cost.

Simulation and training technology

The Virtual Terrain Board (VTB) is designed to demonstrate NVG limitations and capabilities to all operators. It provides realistic and practical academic training to users, while utilising goggles for viewing.

The VTB enables interactive instruction of dynamic and highly detailed NVG effects on all terrain recognition and environments by using virtual night-vision environment technology.

It features five training lessons that demonstrate essential NVG characteristics to operators for initial and refresher training. Critical night instruction for safer and more effective operations is reinforced by the interactive conditions.
