AVX Aircraft Company and L3 Technologies have submitted their proposal for the US Army’s future attack reconnaissance aircraft (FARA).
The AVX / L3 team has proposed to offer an advanced modular armed reconnaissance and light attack platform for the programme.

The AVX / L3 solution will leverage L3’s expertise in systems engineering, weapons, sensor and communications systems integration, as well as AVX Aircraft’s experience in coaxial rotor platforms and propulsion systems.

The FARA competitive prototype programme officially started on 3 October following the release a draft solicitation in June.
The US Army is expected to award contracts in June next year and production programme to begin in 2024.
The army is looking for an advanced, survivable and lethal solution in FARA aircraft, which is named as a top modernisation priority.
