The US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has awarded Northrop Grumman a $500m contract to deliver critical support for its Directorate for Science and Technology (DIA/ST).
Awarded under DIA’s HELIOS indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, Northrop is one of nine companies selected for the project.

The multiple-award company has a five-year base performance period and comes with five one-year options.
Under the contract, the company will provide the US agency with new and advanced capabilities for its science and technology missions.

By GlobalDataThe HELIOS programme is divided into two major technical areas, the primary focus of which is to improve intelligence, provide strategic warning, and inform activities such as research and development, acquisition and operation.
Through the current IDIQ award, the company will be able to continue providing support to the DIA in cross-cutting and multi-domain sensor and mission technologies, in addition to full systems lifecycle development and support.
Northrop will carry out work on the project in Cincinnati, Ohio; Fairfax, Virginia; Huntsville, Alabama; and Tucson, Arizona.
The contract will enable the US DIA to procure research, development, technical and engineering services to support the DIA/ST missions.
Estimated to be completed on 14 September 2028, work will be performed at different contractor facilities and government facilities in the National Capital Region.
AT&T, Booz Allen Hamilton, Harris, KeyW, Leidos, Lockheed Martin, Macaulay-Brown and Southwest Research Institute are the other eight companies to have secured the award.
