The US Army’s common infrared countermeasure (CIRCM) system has attained Milestone C from the US Department of Defense (DoD) Milestone Decision Authority.
The Milestone C status marks the end of the development and testing phase of CIRCM and enables the beginning of production and deployment.

The milestone follows the system being put through a rigorous testing process to ensure system readiness to address the demands of combat operations.
The series of tests included laboratory, flight and free-flight missile testing to verify the performance of the CIRCM system in a wide range of realistic combat scenarios.
Northrop Grumman Land and Avionics Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Division vice-president Bob Gough said: “With the achievement of Milestone C, we have collectively taken an important step toward getting this critical, life-saving technology to the warfighter.
“The CIRCM capability is mature, reliable and has proven to be mission-effective.”
