Leonardo DRS has secured a five-year contract worth $841.3m from the Defense Information Technology Contracting Office of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to produce mounted family of computer systems (MFoCS) II for the US Army.

The contract covers production and delivery of processor units, dismountable tablets, keyboard units, interconnecting cables, docking stations, and rugged sunlight-readable multi-touchscreen display units.

The MFoCS II system will support US Army efforts to modernise tactical platforms such as ground combat vehicles, and command posts.

Lockheed Martin, Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Sensors, Raytheon, Longbow Limited Liability, and General Electric Company will be the prime contractors for a possible $930m foreign military sale (FMS) of AH-64E Apache attack helicopters to the Government of India.

The Indian Government has requested an FMS from the US to enhance the country’s defence capability.

The proposed sale includes six AH-64E helicopters, 14 T700-GE-701D engines, four radar electronic units (REU) Block III, four AN/APG-78 fire control radars, four AN/APR-48B modernised radar frequency interferometers (M-RFIs), and 14 embedded GPS inertial navigation systems (EGI).

Rockwell Collins has signed a contract extension to continue to provide performance-based logistics (PBL) support for the Australian Army’s fleet of Boeing CH-47F Chinook multi-mission helicopters.

The contract covers field service engineering, programme management, logistics service, on-site maintenance, training, transportable flight proficiency simulators, as well as repair and overhaul of the common avionics architecture system (CAAS) components aboard the helicopters.

Robotic Research has agreed to a contract worth $49.7m from the US Army to supply autonomy kits for the large convoy resupply vehicles for a period of three years.

Robotic Research will develop and integrate autonomy kits for the US Army’s vehicles including Oshkosh PLS A1s as part of the Expedient Leader Follower (ExLF) programme, which supports the US Army’s Autonomous Ground Resupply (AGR) automated technology programme.

The autonomy kits will enable the vehicles to operate autonomously, reducing the workload of soldiers.

Raytheon Company has been awarded a contract modification by the US Army to continue to produce the tube-launched, optically tracked, wireless-guided (TOW) weapon system.

The TOW missile is a long-range, anti-tank and assault weapon system that can pierce all known armour systems in the world.

The missile system is available in three variants including multi-mission TOW 2A, TOW 2B, and TOW Bunker Buster.
