The KASI simulator system is designed to provide a realistic combat training environment with battlefield conditions.

“The KASI system deployed at each Finnish Army unit allows for training exercises to be arranged at a higher frequency and lower scale.”

The two-sided system can be deployed in combat exercises. It has been used by the Finnish Defence Forces since 2005.

Integration of the old and new KASI systems will enable the country to organise instrumentation training that would involve more than 2,400 trainees.

Preparations to sign the procurement and service contracts between Finland and Saab began last year with the total value of the procurements reaching €6.49m.

The domestic employment effect of the contract is approximately six years.

Designed to replace its predecessor, the TASI combat simulator, the KASI system deployed at each Finnish Army unit allows for training exercises to be arranged at a higher frequency and lower scale.

Instead of carrying out large-scale combat exercises alone, the basic army units can use the KASI simulator system to support daily soldier training.
