FLIR Systems has secured an order to supply TacFLIR land surveillance camera systems for the US Army.
Valued at $74.7m, the order requires the company to deliver surveillance cameras in support of the US Army’s EO / IR-Force Protection (FP) programme.

The programme seeks to provide improved perimeter security and force protection for the US troops stationed around the world, such as Iraq and Afghanistan.
FLIR Systems president and CEO Jim Cannon said: “We are honoured to continue our long-standing support of the US Army.
“This programme highlights our ability to rapidly deploy our technology for critical missions and underscores FLIR’s commercially developed, military qualified approach.”
The US Army will purchase the systems through Army Contracting Command, Redstone. FLIR will manufacture the TacFLIR systems in Wilsonville, Oregon.

By GlobalDataDeliveries under the deal are expected to begin later this year, with planned completion within one year.
The contract expands the use of FLIR stabilised surveillance systems for the EO / IR-FP programmes, FLIR stated.
FLIR’s TacFLIR is available in three versions, including TacFLIR 380-HD, TacFLIR 280-HD and TacFLIR 230.
To date, FLIR has delivered more than 1,000 EO / IR sensors to the US Army as part of this programme to support the safety of US forces and those of allies, including a variety of systems.
Earlier this year, FLIR secured an $8.8m contract as part of the same programme to deliver other FLIR Ranger radars.
