The transaction also includes BAE’s share of Silicon Sensing Systems, a joint venture with Sumitomo Precision Products.

Silicon Sensing Systems provides solid-state sensors to automotive and military customers.

BAE electronics and integrated solutions unit president Mike Heffron says the divesture is in line with BAE’s strategy to expand as a developer and integrator of systems and de-emphasise its role as a components provider.

The $140m sale was first announced in April.
