Black Hawks to get FLIR Multisensor Imaging Systems

The US Army has awarded a $15.4m contract to infrared cameras manufacturing company FLIR Systems to provide the Star Safire stabilised multisensor system.
The systems will be installed on the army’s Black Hawk helicopters in support of ongoing medical evacuation missions.
Star Safire is a advanced all-digital, gyro-stabilised multisensor imaging system that provides maximum image clarity, precise system control and a flexible upgrade path.
Work will be carried out at the company’s facility in Oregon, and is expected to be complete within the next 12 months.
