Thales Australia has unveiled a full-scale working model of its Hawkei light mobility vehicle for the Australian Defence Force.

The 7t Hawkei is a 4×4 wheeled vehicle and can carry six crew members protected by high levels of blast and ballistic protection

The vehicle is designed to incorporate the future system needs of adaptive campaigning, with command, control, communications, computers and intelligence capabilities and can be upgraded for specific missions

Hawkei’s adaptable ballistic protection technology is designed to be easily removed for air transportation and then be reconfigured in less than 30min without using specialised equipment.

The vehicle, powered by a Steyr V6 diesel engine, can reach over 110kmph with a range of more than 1,000km.
