As part of the test fight programme, the T129 P1 prototype was flown by test pilots from AgustaWestland and Turkish Aerospace Industries. AgustaWestland has opened a centre in Italy to train Turkish engineers on the programme.

The helicopter includes integrated aircraft survivability equipment that delivers vital survivability tools and integrated mission management.

Based on the AW129 and its predecessor, the battle-proven A129 Mangusta platform, the T129 can operate in remote areas with the minimum of logistical support.
