Russia is expected to sign a series of contracts with Libya for the delivery of fighter jets and air defence systems, according to Ria Novosti.
Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation deputy director Vyacheslav Dzirkaln said the contracts could be signed on January 26-27, when Libyan Defense Minister Maj. Gen. Younis Jaber is to visit Russia.

“We believe that the visit will not be purely political, but will also enable us to sign contracts for the delivery of arms and military equipment,” he said.
“A large delegation will arrive, including specialists on air defence and something should be signed.”
In addition, Russia will also assist Libya in the modernisation and maintenance of Soviet-made equipment which is currently under repair, according to Vyacheslav Dzirkaln.
