The Philippines has received six upgraded advanced infantry fighting vehicles (UAIFV) from Turkey-based FNSS Savunma Sistemleri AS.

Chen said the new fleet of vehicles would also have commonality with the US Army’s inventory of over 6,500 M113A3 armoured personnel carriers, which would assure continued worldwide logistics supportability.

“The UAIFV allows the armed forces to respond to a wide range of possible security challenges,” Chen said.
