Iran says it will soon induct its first indigenously built medium-range air defence missile system, Mersad (Ambush), and is planning to deliver a large number of missiles to the armed forces by the end of 2010.
Defence Minister Ahmad Vahidi said the missile system featureed the latest technology, allowing it to attack modern aircraft at low and medium altitudes, according to presstv.ir.
