The US Army has recalled around 44,000 advanced combat helmets built by ArmorSource, after they proved ineffective in ballistic tests conducted recently at a Maryland shooting range.
Following the test results, the army has decided to recall all ineffective helmets from US troops operating across the globe and issue helmets of the same model produced by other manufacturers.

All the recalled helmets will be demilitarised by the Defence Logistics Agency Defence Reutilisation and Marketing Service.
