Lockheed Martin has built a new systems integration and demonstration centre for its joint battle command-platform (JBC-P) solution in Orlando, Florida, US.

The JBC-P solution for the armed forces has been developed on the basis of ground soldier technologies, including the Lockheed-built common controller device and TacScape as well as the Apache modernised target acquisition designation sight / pilot night vision sensor.

The new JBC-P centre uses an open architecture hardware approach and will be used to demonstrate the consistent provision of situational awareness and command and control data to a range of joint users.

The centre allows users to exchange the integrated digital battle command information between aerial platforms, ground vehicles and dismounted soldiers in the battlefield.

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control’s sensors, data links and advanced programmes director Rich Russell said the centre used innovative technologies to present a mature vision of next-generation tactical situational awareness.
