The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has delivered 39 vehicles to the Lebanese Army in Naqoura.

The delivery, which follows the donation of 24 vehicles in April 2010, is part of UNIFIL’s continued efforts to improve security and enhance the capabilities of the Lebanese Army.

UNIFIL’s exit strategy and close collaboration with the army will provide stability and sustainable peace to southern Lebanon, a UNIFIL statement said.

UNIFIL force commander Major General Alberto Asarta Cuevas said conditions on the ground had improved and cooperation from the Lebanese Armed Forces had further strengthened their work, according to dailystar.com.
