India’s indigenous Agni-V (A-5) nuclear-capable missile is ready for test firing, Defence Minister AK Antony has said.

The A-5 is a long-range variant of the 3,500km-range Agni-III (A-3) intermediate range ballistic missile and is designed with inertial guidance, highly accurate sensors and high immunity from jamming, according to domain-b.com.

The 5,000km-range fire-and-forget missile can hit targets in northernmost China, including Beijing, and can carry multiple warheads with decoys.

The date for the test firing of the missile has not been disclosed.
