The US Army Research, Development & Engineering Command has awarded a contract to ITT Corporation for its AN/AVS-6(V)3 aviator night vision goggles and spare image intensifier tubes.
Under the $19.9m contract, ITT will also provide its Generation 3 Pinnacle image intensifier the MX-10160C, which is under production.

The night vision systems, along with the MX-10160C image tubes, can detect available light with more than ten times the power of previous generations.
ITT’s night vision and imaging business area vice-president and general manager Bruce A. Wald said the MX-10160C night vision tube will help soldiers, aviators and special forces to operate in challenging battlefield environments.
