Iran is planning to further boost the power of its missile systems to defend itself against potential threats posed by certain countries and regimes, Iranian parliamentary speaker Ali Larijani said.

“As long as the US and the Zionist regime threaten us, we will work on our missile systems which are used for defensive purposes,” he added.

Iran is currently mass producing short and mid-range missiles, jet fighters, armoured vehicles, and radar-avoiding missiles and other high-tech weapons to defend itself against possible aggressions.

Iran has been pushing its arms development programme in recent years in a bid to reach self sufficiency, according to Fars News Agency.
