The Spanish armed forces will select new vehicles in 2011 to replace their 8×8, 6×6, 4×4 tactical trucks and 4×4 tactical and light armoured vehicles.
In order to meet the needs of the Spanish armed forces as well as other foreign customers, Renault and the Spanish group Iturri have signed a cooperation agreement.

As per the agreement, Iturri will provide support for the assembly, marketing and operational maintenance of Renault vehicles in Spain.
The support will be provided to Sherpa Light 4×4 tactical and light armoured vehicles, Sherpa Medium tactical trucks, Kerax logistic trucks and VAB Mark II medium armoured vehicles.
The Sherpa light armoured vehicle is designed for use in tactical missions such as scouting, patrol, convoy escort and command and liaison.
