General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) has delivered 20 Eagle Bat protected ambulance vehicles to Germany for increased security to its soldiers on missions abroad.
The delivery follows a contract awarded to GD in 2009 and is also part of the contract order for 473 Eagle GFF2 vehicles.
The 9.5t vehicles have been developed, tested and manufactured by GDELS in close cooperation with other German companies.
The Eagle Bat accommodates an emergency doctor, rescue assistant and a driver / paramedic, allowing patient transport and emergency treatment.
The vehicles will replace existing unprotected vehicles of the German Armed Forces for providing a very high level of protection against ballistic threats, mines, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
