Elbit Systems has been awarded a contract to provide self-propelled artillery, command stations, target acquisition systems, command and control solutions and accompanying systems to an African nation.

The $24m contract includes supply of Soltam’s ATMOS self-propelled artillery, command stations, observation and target acquisition systems, fire control, and command and control systems.

The company will also manage the training and maintenance under the contract.

Elbit Systems Executive vice-president and general manager Bezalel Machlis said the contract will provide an operational solution that suits the rising trend of a transition to wheeled mobile platforms for artillery.
