The US Army has awarded a contract to Boeing to perform initial production fielding support modifications on 49 CH-47F Chinook helicopters.
Under the $23.7m contract, the company will make specialised avionics and airframe modifications to support new US Army requirements.

The contract also includes providing training support on the upgrades for Army Chinook units in the US and overseas.
The company will deploy two new equipment training teams consisting of CH-47F mechanics and technicians.
Work on the contract will take place at the company’s Millville Modification Center facility in New Jersey, US and will run until April 2012.
