The Defense Security Cooperation Agency has notified US Congress of a potential foreign military sale of three UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters to Thailand.

Under the estimated $235m sale, Thailand has also requested eight T700-GE-701D engines (six installed and two spares), dual MXF-4027 VHF/UHF-AM/FM communication radios, AN/ARC-201E export SINCGARS airborne radio, AN/AXP-117 CXP (common digital IFF transponder).

The package also includes aviation mission planning station, transportable Black Hawk operations simulator (TBOS), aircraft warranty, air worthiness release support, repair and return support, and other related logistics support.

The proposed sale will contribute to the Thai military goal to modernise its armed forces while also enhancing greater interoperability among the US, and other allies.

Sikorsky Aircraft and General Electric Aircraft will be the prime contractors.
