L-3 Communications’ Display Systems unit has been awarded a firm-fixed price contract by Lockheed Martin to develop a new active matrix liquid crystal display (AMLCD) assembly for the US Army’s AH-64D Apache helicopter.

The new 5in×5in colour AMLCD assembly will enhance the helicopter’s target detection, recognition and night vision sensor display capabilities during day or night operations.
