Harris has been awarded a contract modification for the delivery of additional Falcon tactical vehicular and handheld communication systems to the Jordanian Armed Forces.

The $30m extension follows a previous $26m contract secured by the company in February, for the supply of similar systems to serve as the voice and data communications core for the country’s modernised command, control, communication, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) system.

Under the terms of the new contract, the company will supply an unspecified number of both Falcon III and Falcon II radios to provide the military personnel with advanced communications capabilities that are required in the next phase of the deployment of the system.

"The radio is capable of operating in the 30-512MHz frequency range, and supports SINCGARS, VHF/UHF line-of-sight (VULOS), HaveQuick and other combat net radio waveforms."

The Falcon III is a joint tactical radio system (JTRS) software communications architecture-certified multiband, multi-mission handheld radio, designed to provide soldiers with real-time information and communication at all points of need during coordination, combat and crisis.

Featuring a robust satellite tactical communications capability with advanced SATCOMS waveforms, the radio is capable of operating in the 30-512MHz frequency range, and supports SINCGARS, VHF/UHF line-of-sight (VULOS), HaveQuick and other combat net radio waveforms.

Falcon II radios are capable of providing linking and error-free data performance, while ensuring consistent, reliable, high-frequency voice and data communication to the soldiers at the tactical edge of the battlefield even when communications are jammed.
