PAR Government Systems (PGSC) has been awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract to address quick response capability for communication technologies by the US military and coalition troops in the battlefield.

Awarded by the US Army Contracting Command/Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC/APG) Natick Contracting Division, the IDIQ contract includes a performance period of five years, and a maximum potential value of $48m.

Under the terms of the deal, the company will deliver advanced full motion video (FMV), geospatial information systems (GIS), as well as intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) software and hardware technologies required for collection and analysis of battlefield intelligence by both US and coalition troops.

"Emerging and mature FMV, GIS and ISR associated technologies are expected to play a significant role in achieving and maintaining information dominance."

PGSC president Steve Lynch said that the company was honoured to provide research, development, operational support, deployment and training support needed for the delivery of FMV, GIS and ISR capabilities to soldiers.

"Emerging and mature FMV, GIS and ISR associated technologies are expected to play a significant role in achieving and maintaining information dominance," Lynch added.

"This dominance will be accomplished by technology generation, integration and the rapid fielding of computer-based solutions and equipment."

PGSC is working in collaboration with Natick Contracting Division (NCD) and the US Air Force (USAF) Life Cycle Management Center (LCMC), Battle Management Directorate, Force Protection Division to advance the progress of near-ready, ready and working technologies to the soldiers in the combat zone.

In October 2011, the company also received a five-year $42.5m IDIQ contract from the Army Research Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) Natick Contracting Division to provide ISR technologies and services in support of the army’s Eagle Intel-X programme.
