The US Army Communications-Electronics Command Software Engineering Center (CECOM SEC) has awarded a contract to ManTech International to continue providing software engineering services for its Guardrail range of systems.

Awarded as part of the company’s strategic services sourcing (S3) multiple-award indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle, the task order has a maximum potential value of $34m, and an initial performance period of one year, along with one additional option year.

Under the contract, ManTech will continue delivery of a wide range of software engineering services for analysis and development, as well as technology insertion and field support to the army.

Additional responsibilities include provision of configuration management services and support for tracking, analysis and corrective actions.

Operational since 1971, the Guardrail is an airborne signal intelligence (SIGINT) targeting, collection and reporting system designed to deliver near real-time intelligence, accurate geo-location data and continuous targeting information to deployed commanders in the battlefield.

The system’s critical features include integrated communications and electronic intelligence reporting, enhanced signal classification and recognition, as well as fast direction finding and precision emitter location.
