US technology-focused defence contractor Parsons is supporting the rapid deployment of Battelle Critical Care Decontamination System (CCDS) in the US. The decontamination technology is designed to disinfect millions of N-95 masks and other personal protective equipment. Currently, a hydrogen peroxide mist is being used to decontaminate masks. According to Parsons, each CCDS unit is capable of disinfecting up to 80,000 masks a day. This is expected to allow masks to be reused up to 20 times.
