The Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has been awarded a contract for delivery of global command and control systems-joint (GCCS-J) production, testing and technical services in support of the US combatant commands.
Awarded by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), the single-award, cost-plus fixed-fee contract features a one-year base performance period, along with three one-year options and one six-months option, as well as a maximum potential value of $38m, if all options are exercised.

As part of the contract, the company will supply a range of technical services, including security engineering, functional and performance testing of GCCS-J releases and components, as well as configuration management of production releases.
SAIC senior vice-president and group general manager John Fratamico said: "We look forward to supporting future GCCS-J releases, as they provide interoperable C2 and intelligence functions that satisfy emerging operational needs of our warfighter community."
The contract was awarded under the agency’s Encore II vehicle, which is a multiple-award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract covering delivery of information technology support to military agencies, the Department of Defense (DoD) and other federal government customers.
GCCS-J is an advanced command, control, communications, computer and intelligence (C4I) service designed to provide vital connectivity to systems used in planning, execution and management of military operations for both joint and multinational operations.

Contract work is scheduled to be carried out at Fort George G. Meade, which is located in Jessup, Maryland, US.
