The UK Army’s Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) reservists have conducted their annual deployment exercise (ADE) across multiple training ranges in Germany.
Involving participation from 200 reservists, the ADE consisted of multiple working parts, including an operation Herrick selection battle camp, operational supply training, support to exercise Bavarian Charger, a potential non-commissioned officer (PNCO) cadre course, adventure training in Bavaria, as well as special attachments for Adjutant general corps personnel.

Combining selection competitions and adventurous training, exercise Barbarian Storm featured 174 reservist soldiers from RLC’s 159 supply regiment.
Nearly 62 soldiers participated in exercise Rolling Thunder, which validated the continued development of the regiment’s supplier capability as part of a 102 logistic brigade troop-level exercise based at the supply training facility in Princess Royal Barracks, Gutersloh, Germany.
The 36-hour training witnessed participants working on the supply procedures that are likely to be encountered during deployments.
Simultaneously, the regiment’s drivers and royal electrical and mechanical engineers (REME) personnel joined forces with six regiment RLC during exercise Bavarian Charger in southern Germany, to practise their skills alongside their regular army counterparts.

By GlobalDataDuring exercise, the REME personnel performed real-time repair and recovery tasks, enabling the reservists to obtain hands-on experience in the jobs for which they are being trained.
Around fourteen reservists attended a regimental PNCO Cadre that validated their ability to become junior non-commissioned officers (JNCOs) through classroom based instruction, practical exercises, command tasks and a 60-hour field exercise.
In addition, the battle camp determined the soldiers suitable and fit enough to go forward for final selection for operational deployment.
Approximately 70 regiment members also participated in two separate one-week adventure training package, comprising of hill walking, mountain biking, rock climbing, abseiling and Klettersteig at Drei Muhlen Lodge in Wertach, Bavaria, Germany.
