Under the $21m contract, Harris will provide Falcon III AN/PRC-117G manpack and AN/PRC-152A handheld radios for the undisclosed NATO nation.
Harris RF Communications International Business president Brendan O’Connell said that the Harris-built radios offer capabilities in wireless tactical communications for unprecedented situational awareness for soldiers on the battlefield.
The radios provide wideband networking capabilities as well as line-of-sight, ground-to-air and tactical satellite voice and data communications for the special forces and army soldiers.
"Falcon III enables high-bandwidth applications such as streaming video, simultaneous voice and data feeds, collaborative chat, connectivity to secure networks and interoperable combat net radio," O’Connell said.

By GlobalDataThe Falcon III AN/PRC-117G radio is a software-defined, upgradable voice and data platform designed to support network-enabled operations, such as convoy tracking, intelligence reporting and analysis, collaborative chat, route planning and medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) missions.
Offering continuous coverage in the 30MHz to 2GHz frequency range, the widely fielded wideband networking radio AN/PRC-117G is the first JTRS software communications architecture-certified, NSA Type-1 certified manpack radio system deployed by all branches of the US DoD.
Integrated with the soldier radio waveform (SRW), the tactical radio not only broadens its interoperability with current radios but also ensures compatibility with future platforms operating JTRS waveforms.
The AN/PRC-152A radio will provide handheld wideband tactical networking capability, enabling tasks such as send and receive voice, video, images and data for mission planning, intelligence gathering, force protection and checkpoint security.
The radio, fully interoperable with deployed DoD radios, operates SINCGARS, VHF/UHF line-of-sight (VULOS), HaveQuick, IW for tactical satellite communications and other combat net radio waveforms.
