NIKA has received a contract to provide support services for US Department of Defense (DoD) medical facilities located outside of the US.

The indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) medical facilities support services (MFSS II) contract is worth $25m and was awarded by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).

The contract has a two-year base performance period and three one-year options.

NIKA will provide general project support services, facility operations, maintenance support, and facility support services.

The support will also include project development support services, commissioning, occupancy support services, and facilities system support.

The company will provide support services for DoD medical facilities in Japan, Korea, Italy, Germany, and Hawaii.

NIKA Facilities Operations Management executive vice-president Pete Peterson said: “By earning a spot on the MFSS II contract, we expand our ability to provide our diverse facility life cycle services to federal agencies.

“The MFSS II contract vehicle will give agencies quick and affordable access to NIKA’s professional subject matter experts. We’re proud to continue our legacy of supporting mission-critical medical facilities across the globe.”

The contract will cover functional areas, such as inpatient facilities support and clinical area support.

In addition, the company will provide ancillary support in warehousing, power plants, transition, and space planning.

The USACE also selected other companies including Tidewater, Bowers & Kubota Consulting, and HFS in July this year to compete for orders of the contract.

NIKA is already under contract on MFSS I and expects a smooth transition into the new contract vehicle.

Other existing MFSS I firms include ARGO, Clarke, Polukai, HFS, and TEAM Integrated Engineering.
