Under the contract, the company will deliver ongoing sustainment services for the AN/TSC-198A secret internet protocol router (SIPR) and non-classified internet protocol router (NIPR) access point (SNAP), and baseband equipment.

SNAP terminals offer rapid and mobile satellite communications capabilities to personnel in the field.

Comtech Telecommunications president and CEO Fred Kornberg said: “We strive to provide the best service and support to the US Army’s mission; this additional funding confirms the commitment in that support.”

“The five-year BFT-1 sustainment support contract was originally awarded in April 2017 for the US Army’s Project Manager Mission Command (PM MC) BFT-1 programme.”

Earlier this month, Comtech secured $4.8m additional funding on the same contract. The company said that it demonstrates its continued commitment to the US Army and dedication to troops.
