Rheinmetall has obtained an order to supply new laser duel simulators for the Bundeswehr, Germany’s unified armed forces.
Valued at around €20m, the contract covers the supply of new generation equipment to the German Army Combat Training Centre (GÜZ) for training exercises.

Rheinmetall’s Ausbildungsgerät Duellsimulator Handwaffen (AGDUS HdWa) is a laser and wireless-supported duel simulator that will replace existing Bundeswehr systems.
The company will produce and supply more than 2,000 laser transmitter units for small arms, as part of a contract signed with the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw).
The contract with BAAINBw also covers 1,500 soldier target sets, featuring AGDUS passiv Soldat laser sensors.

By GlobalDataSmall arms equipped with AGDUS will be used in simulated combat operations.
AGDUS is compatible with standard-issue Bundeswehr infantry weapons, including pistols and assault rifles, the G28 and G82 sniper rifles, the MP7 submachine gun, MG4 and MG5 machineguns, the AG40 automatic grenade launcher and hand grenade simulators.
The GÜZ will offer training for operations in urban terrain and the use of future soldier (IdZ) equipment.
