Leonardo-Finmeccanica is showcasing its new Centauro II armoured vehicle at the Eurosatory international land and airland defence, and security exhibition being held in Paris, France.
The new 8×8 armoured vehicle has been produced by a consortium bewteen Iveco Defence Systems and OTO Melara, called CIO.

Leonardo is responsible for supplying the turret, which includes weapons, vision and fire control systems.
Powered by a new IVECO engine, the wheeled antitank vehicle comes with a high-pressure gun, transmission, braking system and control electronics.
The digital tyre pressure control, along with run-flat systems, the new suspension and the low nominal ground pressure helps the new Centauro vehicle to get out from any type of terrain.
According to a statement posted on the CIO website, crew safety on the vehicle has been increased by partitioning stand-by ammunition and stores within the hull.

By GlobalDataBesides Centauro II, Leonardo is also presenting its armoured vehicles VBM Explorer and VBM Freccia, the VBM Mortar Carrier, the Lince vehicle equipped with the light HITROLE 12.7mm turret, the unmanned TRP2 tracked vehicle, the HORUS unmanned air vehicle for surveillance missions and the Dart and Volcano 76 guided ammunitions.
The company is also showcasing EZPRR military radios, the counter-IED Guardian system, the Linx target acquisition system and the Horizon, Janus and EOST-380 electro-optical systems.
