The US Army has awarded a simulator contract to Firan Technology Group Corporation, a provider of electronic product and subsystems for the aerospace and defence markets.

As part of the contract, the company will supply 600 cockpit panels and assemblies for six simulators, which will be used for new military tanker aircraft.

US-based robotics developer CyPhy Works has received an order for its tethered drone system from the US Army’s Rapid Equipping Force (REF).

The persistent aerial reconnaissance and communications (PARC) drone is intended to provide troops with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) and force protection capabilities.

Elbit Systems has been selected to provide observation systems for an undisclosed European country.

Under contracts worth $30m, the company will provide its thermal-imaging observation systems, such as Long View CR, LOROSS, and XACT.
