The New Zealand Army has selected Saab to provide a high-fidelity tactical engagement simulation system (TESS).
The order is Saab's first under a five-year agreement recently signed with the army.

Saab New Zealand will deliver the laser-based TESS, which is expected to improve the army's ability to conduct and analyse the outcomes of force-on-force exercises.
The TESS meets the army’s current requirements, while providing a platform and capacity for long-term system growth.
It is said to draw on more than 35 years of tactical engagement simulation design, delivery and support expertise.
Saab Dynamics business area Training & Simulation business unit head Åsa Thegström said: “With this agreement and order for training systems, the New Zealand Army will have a market-leading live training system that will improve their training capability.

The army will now lead the region in the employment of advanced laser-based tactical engagement systems to support training, Saab said in a statement.
The company has delivered similar systems to the American, British, Canadian and Australian armies and to Nato land forces.
Saab’s live training system has been developed and continuously modernised with experience from more than 20 customer nations.
