Rheinmetall has obtained orders from Bundeswehr, Germany's unified armed forces, to modernise and expand the German Army Combat Training Centre (GÜZ).
Valued at around €24m, the orders require the company to upgrade existing technology at the GÜZ.

The company will restore the communication system at the GÜZ by revamping the software and hardware for connecting tactical radio systems and network technology.
The contract also covers the special expansion of the centre's headquarters software to facilitate execution and evaluation of training sequences in the site's 'Schnöggersburg' urban combat environment.
Located in the Altmark district of Saxony-Anhalt, the GÜZ is said to be one of the world's most advanced major training areas.
It offers training for operations in urban terrain and the use of future soldier (IdZ) equipment.

By GlobalDataEarlier this month, Rheinmetall was contracted by an undisclosed military customer from the Middle East-North Africa (MENA) region to supply simulation technology for the urban operations training centre.
Under the contract, the company agreed to build a training city equipped with wireless data and position locating system as well as a control and evaluation centre, to include presentation systems for exercise briefings.
The training facility will be suitable for simulation-supported force-on-force exercises with a laser engagement system, as well as live-fire operations, the company said.
