The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has awarded contracts to Saab to upgrade the Swedish Armed Forces' training capabilities.
With a total value of SEK198m ($21.4m), the two contracts cover the supply of new laser simulators, mobile base stations and a radio system.

Using the radio solution, the military will be able to conduct larger military manoeuvres with armies from other nations, such as the Nordic countries and Nato nations in Europe.
The system will also allow data to be transferred between soldiers and a training command centre, which will evaluate positions and the status of each simulator, Saab said in a statement.
Saab Training & Simulation business unit head Åsa Thegström said: “The radio system is an important element in conducting larger manoeuvres and getting maximum training value.”
The company's new laser simulators will help the Swedish Army to upgrade and modernise its training system to meet future requirements.

By GlobalDataDeliveries under the two contracts will take place in 2017.
