The industrial offer for the Poland’s defence project includes MEADS International’s Technology Transfer Plan.

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control MEADS vice-president Tom Oles said: “We’re extremely pleased to have been given the opportunity to present a detailed offer to the Ministry of National Defense.

“MEADS represents the most affordable and the quickest path to the capabilities Poland requires and if MEADS is selected for Wisla, Polish industry will benefit from technology implementation and future sales of MEADS in partnership with global leaders in defense.”

The MEADS technology comprises active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, digital systems, 360° defense and an open-architecture non-proprietary network.

“If MEADS is selected for Wisla, Polish industry will benefit from technology implementation and future sales of MEADS in partnership with global leaders in defense.”

Designed to replace Patriot, the 360° MEADS system is capable of defeating air and missile threats from any direction, arrives and moves with deployed troops, and is interoperable with other Nato forces.

This easily deployable system constitutes advanced hit-to-kill PAC-3 MSE missiles, surveillance and fire control sensors, battle management / communication centres, and high-firepower launchers.

The system’s battlefield protection with unprecedented flexibility allows it to protect manoeuvring forces and to provide homeland defence, MBDA stated.

In September 2016, MEADS International agreed to cooperate with Polish defence company PGZ on the project.
